In Watts, California, an unusual duo was seen huddled near the sidewalk. They had abandoned their worn-out leashes as if they were of no use. The previous night was chilly, but the big and young girl stuck together, providing warmth and security for each other.
Suzette Hall, the rescuer and founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, wasn’t surprised when she arrived on Wednesday to help catch the abandoned dogs. The cases of abandoned dogs have been increasing rapidly, and each one seems to be more heartbreaking than the last. These loyal furry friends were inseparable, much like the iconic duos Thelma and Louise, or Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
The circumstances of this rescue were one-of-a-kind and Suzette was thrilled to see that the dogs were eager to be rescued and had no hesitation in stepping forward. When Suzette first arrived on the scene, both dogs were visibly ecstatic, almost as if they were saying, “Thank goodness someone finally came to our rescue”.
It was quite baffling that the pit bull and Yorkshire terrier mixes had been wandering around the neighborhood for several days without anyone recognizing them. Had someone truly abandoned these poor dogs?
As Suzette stood there, a tiny pup scampered over to her, wagging its tail excitedly. The adorable creature longed to be picked up and held in the arms of its savior. Suzette, being the kind-hearted person she was, couldn’t bear the thought of leaving the little one behind. All she wanted was to stay close to her new furry friend and keep it safe from harm.
I’ve witnessed many bonds between dogs, but this one was truly unique. As soon as I opened the door to my van, these two furry friends jumped in and were ecstatic to be together. Their tails wagged vigorously and they displayed pure joy on their faces. Looking into their eyes, I could tell they were saying “someone has come to see us again.”
As they made their way back home, the two dogs cozied up to each other, tired but still wanting to be close. Their excitement was palpable as they eagerly awaited kisses, food, and a trip to the vet for checkups, vaccinations, and to get their identification sorted.
These pups are both incredibly friendly, but they come with their own unique challenges. The Yorkie’s coat is matted, while the pittie has some skin issues to deal with. But with lots of love and care, these adorable puppies will soon overcome these obstacles and leave them far behind.
