Houston, a 5-year-old feline, made his way to Tabby’s Place, a cat sanctuary located in Ringoes, New Jersey with the assistance of kind-hearted individuals. Upon arrival, Houston appeared worn out and in need of love and care. However, he quickly warmed up to his new surroundings and was full of affection and excitement. According to Angela Hartley, the development director of Tabby’s Place, Houston arrived looking malnourished and covered in matted fur, and had several medical issues. Despite his challenges, Houston was a lovable little creature who won over the hearts of everyone who met him.
Houston, a Siamese cat, suffered from hydrocephalus which caused swelling and prevented him from fully opening his eyes. However, he remained friendly towards people and grateful for their help. The kind-hearted feline even showed affection by making a cute gesture with his paws while the team untangled his matted coat.
Tabby’s Place sought out the expertise of a veterinary neurologist to ensure that Houston received top-notch treatment for his ailment. Thanks to the reduction in pressure around his brain, he began to show signs of improvement and even managed to stand up on his own two feet. The entire team was overjoyed upon seeing Houston’s bright blue eyes once again and hearing his confident meows, which were the result of his newly regained strength.
Angela from Love Meow expressed their dedication to caring for cats that are in dire need. Houston, in particular, has already received an abundance of love and care from them. Houston is now living in a comfortable kitty suite with soft blankets to ensure his safety as he moves around and plays. He has made significant progress and has even regained his youthful spirit.
Houston loves to snuggle with his family and makes sure to give them their regular dose of affection. He is a lively and enthusiastic little dog, whose zest for life is truly remarkable. Every day, he greets the world with wide-eyed wonder and an infectious love for all those around him. Houston enjoys being held close, receiving cuddles, and even taking baths. He is truly a marvel to behold!
His ultimate pleasure lies in receiving attention as he starts to purr loudly, the sound echoing through the room. Despite his wobbly movements, he remains unfazed and continues to roam around with ease.
Houston takes great joy in picking himself up whenever he stumbles, and he especially loves to prance around on one of his hind legs. Although he may not have a clear understanding of what he’s doing, he puts forth all his effort and passion into it.
The adorable cat with a circular face has discovered a secure place where he receives exceptional treatment to guarantee a pleasant, relaxed, affectionate existence. Despite his disability, this charming feline refuses to allow it to hinder him from enjoying life to the fullest. Whenever Houston catches sight of someone, he becomes excited and perks up, eagerly seeking attention. Houston thoroughly delights in kneading all his blankets, bedding, and the affectionate arms of humans. His sole desire is to give and receive love.
Tabby’s Place has been a reliable refuge for cats that are often rejected by others for the past 18 years. They are now introducing a unique and pioneering sanctuary named Quinn’s Corner, which caters to the most vulnerable feline population – cats with feline leukemia virus (FeLV). These cats, whose lives were previously deprived of joy, will finally experience a world specifically designed for them, brimming with happiness and contentment.
Houston’s lovable teddy bear-like personality continues to leave a lasting impression on those he encounters. He eagerly awakens each morning, eager to bask in the warmth of affection that surrounds him.
