The Hairy Dilemma of a Stray Pooch: A Call for Assistance

Life can be tough for stray dogs as they face a daily battle to find food, water, and shelter. However, hygiene is also an important concern for these animals. It is not just a matter of vanity but more so a necessity as good hygiene can help keep them healthy. Like humans, dogs require basic hygienic care such as nail trimming and fur brushing. Regular washing of their fur is also necessary, especially for those with longer coats, to prevent skin problems and other conditions.

It’s important to keep up with the grooming needs of dogs with long hair to prevent knots and tangles. Dogs who are well-loved and cared for by their owners typically receive regular maintenance, but this isn’t always the case for strays. Long-haired strays may not have anyone to ensure their fur remains well-groomed, leading to dirty mats forming. Sadly, one homeless furry friend had suffered so much from neglected grooming that he had become unrecognizable.

As a stray dog living on the streets, people at the local market would often see this tiny pup begging for food. At times, his fur was so matted that he looked nothing like a dog. Fortunately, Olga found him after two days of searching. The poor little guy was already sick and had a high fever, causing him to wheeze and suffer. Thanks to Olga’s rescue, the dog was given a second chance at life.

The duration of his miserable living condition and his age at the time of discovery were uncertain. However, it was evident to the veterinarians that they had to release him from his bulky fur mats as they were taken aback by his appearance. It took them nearly an hour to remove all the tangles and knots, but the wait was worthwhile since his change was remarkable! Watch the attached video:
